Energy Assistance
During the winter months, low-income individuals and families can be helped with heating their homes through this program. Assistance is provided on a first come, first served basis for a variety of heating sources. Applicants must live within the two county area and have a utility account in their name.

 

Weatherization
The Weatherization Program is designed to assist low-income households in making their home more energy efficient. A performance test is conducting to determine which energy saving measures or tasks are needed. These tasks may include insulating under floors, and in attics and walls; cleaning furnaces and duct work, sealing duct work and appliance replacement. Clients must be at or below 125% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. State guidelines give priority to seniors, the disabled and families with children under 6 years of age.

 

Home Rehabilitation and Repair
The Home Repair and rehabilition Program is designed to assist very low-income homeowners with necessary repairs to make their home safe and healty. Homes selected for this program must be brought up to HUD standards and building codes.

Homeowners must live in the home full time and meet income qualification one of the two ways:

Be a household with an income at or below 30% of the County Median Income;

Be a household with an income between 30% and 50% of County Median Income and accept a deferred loan.

In addition to income qualifications, the home must meet certain program guidelines established by HUD and the State
