Food, Nutrition and Gleaning

WGAP is the Lead Agency and Distribution Center for the Food Banks in Klickitat and Skamania counties. Low-income individuals and families are eligible for a Food Box once a month. The food in a box varies but generally there is enough for three to twelve nutritionally balanced meals depending on the size of the family.

For individuals with medical conditions requiring special diets, Special Dietary Needs boxes partially supply the necessary food. A Doctor's Statement of the medical condition is required. Available at WGAP Food Bank and Goldendale Food Bank only.

The Rainbow Valley Volunteers gleaning program enhances self-reliance and reduces the waste of usable food and produce. Through surplus and salvage operations three RVV gleaning groups access thousands of pounds of food each year. This food is then distributed to individuals and families in the two county area.
