First Food for All fundraiser successful!

posted Aug 9, 2017, 11:13 AM by Leslie Naramore
As I’ve been pondering WGAP’s first North Shore Food for All Jubilee, I’ve been struck with two feelings: wonderment and gratitude. I’m awestruck by this community. The people who attended this first event took a big leap of faith with us and we’re so grateful for their support shown by both their presence and their monetary donations.

Our volunteers outdid themselves. During the evening, I looked around and I saw a team that had just formed a few hours earlier, laughing, working together, and getting the job done. We had WGAP employees, community members and partners, and even the Executive Director of another non-profit all working for our cause. I believe that a rising tide raises all boats and I firmly believe that was accomplished that evening.

I have special thanks for our event coordinator, Annie McHale, and Rachael and Anais of AniChe Cellars in Underwood, WA. Rachael and Anais showed up that morning, did set-up in a hot and dusty field, and then just kept going through the whole event, plating food, serving wine, and then helping with tear down. I truly believe that WGAP owes the success of this event to these two and I’m eternally grateful to them. They are a huge part of what makes our Gorge community so special.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.

Until next year….
