I found the used FX-8350 PC below for 430 bucks, full specs below:
- 4.5Ghz overclocked AMD FX 8350 (Cooler Master Evo 212 fan)
- 3GB NVIDIA GTX 1060
- The UD3P motherboard by Gigabyte
- Bronze certificate for the Corsair CX 750 watts
- 2 x 4 GB Corsair Vengeance Dual Channel @ 1600 MHz
- Green 1TB HDD from WD
Light streaming and gaming are on the agenda
The FX-8350 OC is the first computer I’ve ever built, and I don’t know how well it has aged. For this price, should I get the Ryzen build instead of a brand new one?
My Experience: A pre-existing one can be used. You can use one if you get one for free. Buying one is a bad idea. In contrast, I just built my nephew a gaming system for his 8th birthday using old parts from my old machine, including an AMD Radeon HD 7870 and an FX-8150 graphics card. In this video, he plays Euro truck simulator 2 and Raft with maximum settings on a 1080p 60 Hz monitor and he has a blast. I built a very cheap gaming system for a very low cost by buying just a PSU, SSD, and a case… A child of eight may not be the fastest at these things, but what does an 8-year-old know? Though the kid can’t play Fallout 4, that computer could run it at playable frame rates.
