I had always wanted a laser engraver and after going over a few others, I was very impressed with the price, reviews, and fast shipping of this one. Although I had no prior experience with laser engraving, I found it to be a pleasant learning experience.

A double boxing system was used to protect the laser in case of shipping issues (look at you, USPS), as its box was enclosed in an Amazon box. All the components are made of aluminum, and the package contains foam inserts and plastic sleeves that individually package each component. I think it’s a bit overdone, but it shows that it’s not a “flimsy” product.

A step-by-step instruction booklet is included with this kit that explains how to set up everything, including the tools and zip ties (which I did not expect). I almost immediately found a driver for my Windows device in the “device manager.” It was easy to install and set up with LightBurn (you can try it for a month for free). Right clicking on it and selecting “update driver” made Windows search for a driver online. After a few seconds, Windows downloaded the driver and completed it. Lightburn recognized the engraver and I was able to print right away after restarting the program. Printing and setting up different materials are covered in numerous tutorials.

In the past few years, I’ve had the machine and it has been a great tool for learning, practicing and getting started in laser engraving/cutting (yes, it can also cut materials).
